The past few months have been one of those periods of your life that are a complete blur. A rush that you're only probably capable of getting through without a nervous breakdown on sheer adrenaline and the hope that it's all for a good cause and I think... I just think at this point, that it is for a good cause.
I have had interesting observations, it is really like I'm an outsider looking in at a town that I'm on the inside of. My frustrations lie in apathy. If something exciting is not handed to people on a platter or at the one pub deemed cool enough at the time to go to, then artistic and cultural gems will be completely disregarded. All cliques and groups have become one, which in one way is a fantastic way of becoming closer friends with people I know must be in some way similar to me, but in another way means that thelimited one on one social times are almost extinct.
I currently write/produce/present a show for one station as well as being actively involved in the behind the scenes station life, I write gig reviews and am working on a show for a Melbourne station, I am coordinating a large charity event, I am trying to organise moving to a different city and out of home for the first time, I am doing reviews/interviews/promotions for a music festival, I am trying to deal with large issues facing people I love and care for as well as trying to earn some money and go through with job interviews in a new city. I want a break, I want to hang out and enjoy for once doing what everyone else is doing, however linking back to the beginning I need to realise this is all worth it, otherwise it'll be anxiety o'clock on the rocket clock.
Something, seemingly the reason behind all this business, that always keeps me happy though is music. On Sunday the 28th of Feb at Footscray Arts Centre I was lucky enough to be at African Affair which celebrated African music, food and culture. Such a cool day and I came across these guys- King Marong. SO COOL. I will also be lucky enough to see them at Apollo Bay Music Festival and cannot wait.
Enjoy and now that I'm back on the blogosphere, I'll be in touch again soon.
I've also been listening to a lot of Boy & Bear, they're really quite beautiful
You've been weathering the storm
And it's been blowing hard
Cause it won't wait for you
Because it waits for no one

Thanks again Thom
What will grow crooked, you can't make straight
It's the price that you gotta pay
Do yourself a favour and pack your bags
Buy a ticket and get on the train
Buy a ticket and get on the train
Cause this is fucked up, fucked up
Cause this is fucked up, fucked up
People get crushed like biscuit crumbs
And lay down in the bitumen
You have tried your best to please everyone
But it just isn't happenin
No, it just isn't happenin
And that is fucked up, fucked up
And this is fucked up, fucked up
This your blind spot, blind spot
It should be obvious, but it's not.
But it isn't, but it isn't
You cannot kickstart a dead horse
You just crush yourself and walk away
I don't care what the future holds
'Cause I'm right in your arms today
With your fingers you can touch me
I am your black swan, black swan
But I made it to the top, but I made it to the top
And this is fucked up, fucked up
You are fucked up, fucked up
This is fucked up, fucked up
Be your black swan, black swan
I'm for spare parts, broken up
It's the price that you gotta pay
Do yourself a favour and pack your bags
Buy a ticket and get on the train
Buy a ticket and get on the train
Cause this is fucked up, fucked up
Cause this is fucked up, fucked up

Breathe with me
So much goes on in such short windows of time! It's lucky people don't necessarily blog daily because nothing would really ever change! I have the best thing going on at the moment. Such a good existence!
I'm really lucky to have fallen into the friendship groups, the family groups and the relationships that I have. I only spend quality time with people I think are quality, and the people I meet and talk with on the peripherals excite me constantly because I'm being introducted to friends of friends who are usually guaranteed to be kind of cool at least.
The radio quest is going well I would think, the only thing is the fact that I'm in a little bit of limbo at the moment having finished a degree, having a show which is gaining success on community radio and being unable to decide on what to do next. I think most people would find themselves at this point. Things are so perfect socially right here, but I need to move away! But when do I move??! And what'll happen to all of these connections that I have that are so positive right now. It makes reaching a decision a slightly difficult quest.
Our great topdeck friends we made in Europe have just come down for a week and Georgia and I were discussing the age old debateyou know about how fantastic it is to be successful career wise, but what is more important in life? Reaching goals professionally, or creating meaningful relationships and really experiencing and fully embracing love and all that comes with that? Who knows I suppose, if you could get the balance right, things would be pretty sweet!
For now, I need to research my show for this week. Will post again my undecided thoughts in regards to my unplanned life asap!

Proper.
When I go, i think i'm gonna sew my name into all of your clothes my girl, since you have always worn me well.
And there are too many animals on this ship, some of you i think will have to sink but when it gets too much, you can only adjust
Oh i am always thinking about you and how you always wear me well, you can't outgrow something sewn under your skin so i will always wear you well.
And sunday evening always has this sense of something good about to end i know we hold our breaths for tomorrow, and i think im gonna write my name into all the books you love so well, since you can read me good my girl yeah you can always read me well.
Try and rationalise a thing you've never seen before you can wear me well, you can wear me well id suit myself, but its one that ive never worn
If theres only one truth that i know, its that the stitches that we've made are the best i've ever sewn.
Perhaps there is Josh Pyke out there for each of us? Proper affection and no fear of it!

One free woman!
I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love/ I don't know how someone controlled you/ They bought you and sold you/I look at the world and see that it's turning.
As the beatles themselves would say, I am as free as a bird. Free of uni that is! Which is a wonderful thing as I had really reached the end of the line in regards to essay writing capabilities and assignment handing in worries. No exams, all assignments in, nothing else I can do. Now I can just enjoy myself. Hang out with people when I want to, go out and not have to spend the time where I'm not working home-working, concentrate on my radio show and save some cash for the big smoke. This time is so exciting for me and I'm really feeling positive about my abilities and less self crucifying and that this upcoming period of months are going to bring fantastic things.
One of them will be christmas which I will be in the country for, OH YEAH. Here is a special christmas treat from David Bowie & Bing Crosby
I went to see the Preytells up in Melbourne two weeks ago- AWESOME. Such a good show, and so lucky to be able to get up there in the end. I like doing things on a whim and it's rare that people ever really do it with you, so if you can find a wingman all is well, and all was well for me! It's been an interesting time for meeting new people and forming new relationships at the moment. I've met loads of new people, some just through the show or the pulse and some through friends and some completely out of the blue. All of which have bought only good things so far which is nice, but it's sometimes hard to tell what people want from you. It may be a cynical view, but if someone is not clear about their intentions or their desires for your friendship or relationship it's hard not to feel curious about what they think of you and how they feel you fit into their life. All will soon be revealed I suppose, and perhaps the mystery is more interesting than the revelation?
Radio show, check. Journalism at university, check. Overseas, check. Brilliant people around me, check. Things are going well.
