i'm drunk up on your potion.

I today accidentally discovered a desperate-housewives style family secret about a regular from the newsagents, that I'm quite sure his family wouldn't even have known. It made the rest of my day much more interesting as each person I met I wondered what sort of things would come out if they had to tell something they'd never told anybody before. Everyone's got something. Everybody has a story. It's intriguing and I'm hoping to uncover many of these undiscovered stories by encouraging people to talk to me. How can I make this a career? FEATURE JOURNO. Yo.

Many things to rant about today including politics, dylan moran, money, differences of opinion and you know all that sort of thing. HOWEVER, I should stop this. I should continue to podcast and analyse a week's worth of current affairs radio on AM. They really do a great job, it's really a good reference to just find out what is happening in the world around us. Even their short snippets about the day's pieces would be a good idea for anyone who ever reads this to have a look at. BE AWARE of what is happening in the world people, politics or other, because it really does affect you, whether it's interesting or not. Which it is!

Oh Angus & your dreamy voice. Addictive, romantic, easy listening.

I bit my tongue in the awkward conversation.
I don't know why.
I don't know why.
I met you once and I'd fallen for your notions.
I don't know why.
I don't know why.
Do you believe that there's treasures in the ocean
Did I say I'm just a boy?
One kiss from you and I'm drunk up on your potion.

That big old smile is all you wore.
Girl you make me want to feel,
Things I've never felt before.
Girl you make me want to feel,
Did I say I'm just a boy,
Did I say I'm just a boy,
You can hold me to that.

No lonely hands grab my suitcase full of nothing
I don't know why
I don't know why
You took me in gave me something to believe in
That big old smile is all you wore
Girl you make me want to feel
Things I never felt before
Girl you make me want to feel
Did I say I'm just a boy
Did I say I'm just a boy
You can hold me to that

old school blink makes me happy

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I clearly need to make a trip down to my special spot and scream my heart out.

Dylan Moran tonight... Dylan I'm ready to laugh, do your best. I cannot wait to see him and just a comedy act in general, I need to lighten up at the moment, and let go! And be excited.

Listening to loads of current affair radio podcasts is not as interesting as a I had hoped, however is an awesome way to find out what's going on in the actual world, rather than reading the Herald Sun who are too swept up on a witch hunt of Terry Wallace over A GAME than to cover proper news. This will become my major issue working amongst the media. I actually have an understanding of the amount of pressure the media puts families that are involved in football under. I really feel for the coaching staff and their families, who we adore, because the playing group cannot stand up as men and prove themselves worthy to be playing in the top league, someone has to take the blame. Journalists like Wilson make ridiculous attacks on these men, with personal issues coming into play, and disregard any decency or courtesy in the way they go abut their job. WHAT WILL I DO? I just really hope I don't end up the same. I doubt that.

I don't know how those many years ago where I was a one man show, how I actually functioned without the friends I have now. No wonder I was the way I was, I'm so lucky and have the greatest people around me. Apollo bay ladies trip soon, Dylan Moran tonight, Erin's 21st on the weekend, Mill Markets on sunday, Journalism assignments almost out of the way. Things are good, just inner frustration needing to be screeched out, like in the movies yeah?

Garibaldi, you legend.

It's so interesting to read about historical figures that were SO completely sure of themselves and what they believed in. Giuseppi Garibaldi, referred to as a romantic nationalist, can be credited with the unification of Italy. He just believed that one province of Italy should be concerned about the welfare of others. That they were brothers and united by not only location, but language and culture. I like his style, you believe in something and what you want to get, and regardless of what's standing in your way (be it a history essay, facebook, blogging, monsters vs aliens OR napoleon and his french army) you just go and get it.

I am really finding it easy to research this essay, but increasingly difficult to write an essay on it, perhaps my essay writing days are drawing to an end. It's a pity I still have many a month of them ahead of me. I'll deal with it I suppose.

Next for us, vlogs. Youtube channel, podcasting. Rory and I will indeed somehow get what we want also. It will be an interesting month ahead of me, I'm excited and nervous and over so many things, and yet anticipating some events way too much. Thinking about what will happen. DYLAN MORAN! Hurrah, 21sts all over, girls night needing to be organised badly, my life plan needing to get back on track.

For now, I will deal with something well in the bounds of my control & write my history essay about Giussepe and his army of Red Shirts, who defied the norm and acted with conviction! I will listen to the ultimate hang out & relax playlist. Then I will go and see Monsters vs Aliens at the movies. Tomorrow I will do my essay, coffee break with angel, cook tea and Suppa Club with my best friends at Wixys. Life's good.

You don't realise how much I need you.
Love you all the time and never leave you.
Please come on back to me.
I'm lonely as can be. I need you.

Said you had a thing or two to tell me.
How was I to know you would upset me?
I didn't realise as I looked in your eyes...
You told me.

Oh yes, you told me, you don't want my lovin' anymore.
That's when it hurt me.
And feeling like this, I just can't go on anymore.

Please remember how I feel about you, I could never really live without you.
So, come on back and see just what you mean to me.
I need you.

But when you told me, you don't want my lovin' anymore.
That's when it hurt me.
And feeling like this, I just can't go on anymore.
Please remember how I feel about you.
I could never really live without you.
So, come on back and see just what you mean to me.
I need you. I need you. I need you.

is blog. is good.

You change all the lead
sleepin' in my head to gold,
as the day grows dim,
I hear you sing a golden hymn,
the song I've been trying to sing.

Purify the colours, purify my mind.
Purify the colours, purify my mind,
and spread the ashes of the colours
Over this heart of mine!

Oh, life is so interesting! One day you just feel certainly one way and then within a few more something new and intriguing has happened and you feel completely different again. I'm just stuck trying to figure out where to go from here, opportunities come and go so quickly so perhaps I should stop worrying about other people and do what is best for numero uno. Because everyone else is looking out for themselves, so I shall to. At least not make plans that I worry about how they will affect others, if they will very much benefit me I should go for it.

As it's my last year of uni, I'm full of wonder about what I'll be doing next year & where I'll be. What sort of journalist do I even want to be? Do I want to present? But in doing that, I'll be unable to do opinion pieces which I love. And features which i'm all about. Perhaps magazine writing. But Radio! That's what I want. Now to get it. Reply to my emails Pulse!

VFEST this saturday, m83! The Human League! Killers! Duffy! Razorlight! Tame Impala! Temper Trap! Oh my. I love days such as this, when you have so many things to look forward to. And the ticket is paid for and i'm going with beautiful people, so things couldn't get much better.

Loving our lady posse at the moment, we have gathered a properly amazing group of women to hang out with, it's making me laugh a lot. Gossip thread! Uni hang outs.

ARCADE FIRE + where the wild things are = screaming out my name. Love it!

bookworming around

Tuesdays with Morrie wisdom:

`The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.

`Same for loneliness: you let go, let the tears flow, feel it completely - but eventually be able to say, ‘All right, that was my moment with loneliness. I’m not afraid of feeling lonely, but now I’m going to put that loneliness aside and know that there are other emotions in the world, and I’m going to experience them as well.

`By throwing yourself into these emotions, by allowing yourself to dive in, all the way, over your head even, you experience them fully and completely. You know what pain is. You know what love is. You know what grief is. … I have experienced that emotion. I recognize that emotion. Now I need to detach from that emotion for a moment.

`Life is a series of pulls back and forth. You want to do one thing, but you are bound to do something else.

A Thousand Splendid Suns beauty:

`She was leaving the world as a woman who had loved and been loved back. She was leaving it as a friend, a companion, a guardian. A mother. A person of consequence at last. This was a legitimate end to a life of illegitimate belongings.

`One could not count the moons that shimmer on her roofs, or the thousand splendid suns that hide behind her walls.

`Boys, Laila came to see, treated friendship the way they treated the sun: its existence undisputed; its radiance best enjoyed, not beheld directly

The Kite Runner gold:

`For you... a thousand times over.

`And that's the thing about people who mean everything they say. They think everyone else does too.

`She said, 'I'm so afraid.' And I said, 'why?,' and she said, 'Because I'm so profoundly happy, Dr. Rasul. Happiness like this is frightening.' I asked her why and she said, 'They only let you be this happy if they're preparing to take something from you.

The thing I love about reading is just trying to figure out how these characters that you become totally immersed in, will end up. What will happen to them? What will happen to you in your own story? These three books have just completely opened up my eyes to not only what's happening in Afghanistan or their history, or the thoughts of a lovely, clever man on his death bed, but just about stuff.

I enjoy new perspectives, and especially when it can be a perspective of a thousand miles away and you still relate to the feelings of those people, you still can imagine yourself in their shoes and dealing with those situations. The last two do make you realise how incredibly lucky you are to end up in the life that you have ended up in, in the body you're in, with the looks you have, with the family & friends that you have somehow managed to find a connection with, with a healthy mind & the interest of learning new things, with access to resources that enable you to do so.

Being born the person you are is not simply a blessing or an act of a higher power, it is luck and with your own faith about other humans and the world you are born into, it is YOUR life to mould and shape and make rules for. You make the rules for your own existence, you cannot read scriptures, or the word of someone you've never met and take it for Gospel, assuming that in a Modern age that occurrences that may or may not have happened thousands of years ago could possibly work in full, right now in the time we are living in.

Whether you're Catholic, Sunni or Shia Muslim, Protestant, Jew or just a curious person who wants to learn and debate things with themselves, then read Christopher Hitchen's 'God is Not Great', he is an incredible writer & debater and is so clever, and very very open minded and accepting of other people's beliefs, with the hope of others being accepting of him. Oh, what a wonderful world it would be!

I have to go watch the IT crowd and go to sleepies!
